- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
- Salt to taste
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Mince the garlic and measure the red pepper flakes.
- Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the warm oil. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the diced tomatoes and salt, stir, bring to a low simmer, and cook for 5-7 minutes until thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in chopped fresh herbs. Spoon over cooked pasta and serve hot.
Notes
Serve with grated Parmesan or pecorino and drizzle with extra virgin olive oil for richness. This sauce is also great with zucchini noodles or roasted vegetables.
