Description

Crispy, golden chicken breasts topped with marinara sauce and melted cheese, made healthier in an air fryer.


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dip each chicken breast in the beaten eggs, then coat thoroughly with the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray, place the coated chicken, and cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  5. Top each breast with marinara sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese, and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Remove from air fryer, let cool briefly, and serve hot.

Notes

For a healthier option, use whole wheat breadcrumbs or panko for extra crunch. Adjust cooking time for frozen chicken breasts.
