- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 cups chopped apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a bundt pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- Cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Alternately add the dry ingredients and buttermilk to the mixture, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped apples and nuts gently.
- Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan.
- Bake for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Best served with powdered sugar or caramel sauce. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
