Description
A delightful dish that combines the savory goodness of chicken with the sweet and tangy flavor of apple cider, perfect for family dinners or special occasions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 chicken thighs
- 1 cup apple cider
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh thyme for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper. Brown the chicken in the skillet for about 5-6 minutes on each side until golden. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add sliced onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion is soft and translucent.
- Pour in the apple cider, bring to a boil, and scrape up any bits stuck to the bottom.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 20-25 minutes until chicken is fully cooked and tender.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in apple cider for a few hours before cooking. You can also swap chicken thighs for breasts for a leaner option, but adjust the cooking time.
