- 4 large egg whites
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 medium apples, peeled and diced
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for whipped cream)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 275°F (135°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Beat the egg whites in a clean mixing bowl until soft peaks form, then gradually add the sugar until firm peaks form. Fold in cornstarch, vinegar, and vanilla.
- Spoon the meringue onto the baking sheet, shaping it into a round disk. Bake for 1 hour, then turn off the oven and let it cool completely inside.
- Sauté the diced apples with cinnamon over medium heat until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
- Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla until stiff peaks form.
- Top the cooled pavlova with whipped cream and sautéed apples. Serve immediately.
Notes
Let pavlova cool gradually to prevent cracks. Serve immediately after assembling to maintain texture.
