A delightful dessert that combines light meringue with warm cinnamon-spiced apples and luscious whipped cream.


Ingredients

  • 4 large egg whites
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 medium apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for whipped cream)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 275°F (135°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Beat the egg whites in a clean mixing bowl until soft peaks form, then gradually add the sugar until firm peaks form. Fold in cornstarch, vinegar, and vanilla.
  3. Spoon the meringue onto the baking sheet, shaping it into a round disk. Bake for 1 hour, then turn off the oven and let it cool completely inside.
  4. Sauté the diced apples with cinnamon over medium heat until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla until stiff peaks form.
  6. Top the cooled pavlova with whipped cream and sautéed apples. Serve immediately.

Notes

Let pavlova cool gradually to prevent cracks. Serve immediately after assembling to maintain texture.
