- 3 cups sliced apples (mix of Granny Smith and Honeycrisp)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1/2 cup cold butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon. Toss until well-coated and set aside.
- In another bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, salt, brown sugar, and oats. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Spread half of the crumb mixture into a greased baking pan, pour the apple mixture over it, and top with the remaining crumb mixture.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before cutting into bars.
Notes
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or caramel drizzle. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or refrigerate for up to a week. Freezes well for up to 3 months.
