Description
A delightful breakfast treat bringing apple pie flavors to pancakes, topped with homemade vanilla maple syrup.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 cup diced apples
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- In another bowl, combine the buttermilk, large egg, and melted butter. Mix in the diced apples and cinnamon until evenly coated.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and pour 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form, then flip and cook until golden brown.
- For the syrup, heat the maple syrup in a saucepan, stirring in the vanilla extract. Serve pancakes warm with syrup.
Notes
For fluffier pancakes, let the batter rest before cooking. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
