  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 carrot, grated
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1 head of lettuce (such as butter or iceberg), leaves separated
  • Chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent, typically about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Add the ground turkey to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks for about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in the grated carrot and diced bell pepper, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and minced ginger. Pour this sauce over the turkey and veggies, stirring well to combine. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  5. Serve the turkey mixture wrapped in lettuce leaves. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
