Description

Crispy bacon wrapped around sweet water chestnuts, coated in a savory soy-brown sugar glaze, perfect for parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can water chestnuts, drained
  • 8 ounces bacon, cut into halves or thirds
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • Toothpicks

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Pat the drained water chestnuts dry with a paper towel. Cut the bacon into halves or thirds. Secure each wrapped chestnut with a toothpick and arrange seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with foil.
  2. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce and brown sugar until dissolved. Adjust with pepper or hot sauce for added flavor.
  3. Brush or drizzle the glaze over each bacon-wrapped chestnut. Bake for 25–30 minutes, turning once, until the bacon is crispy.
  4. Let cool for a few minutes, then serve warm on a platter with extra toothpicks.

Notes

Use thick-cut bacon for best results. These taste best the same day, but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
