Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can water chestnuts, drained
- 8 ounces bacon, cut into halves or thirds
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- Toothpicks
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Pat the drained water chestnuts dry with a paper towel. Cut the bacon into halves or thirds. Secure each wrapped chestnut with a toothpick and arrange seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with foil.
- In a small bowl, mix soy sauce and brown sugar until dissolved. Adjust with pepper or hot sauce for added flavor.
- Brush or drizzle the glaze over each bacon-wrapped chestnut. Bake for 25–30 minutes, turning once, until the bacon is crispy.
- Let cool for a few minutes, then serve warm on a platter with extra toothpicks.
Notes
Use thick-cut bacon for best results. These taste best the same day, but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
