Description
A delightful side dish that transforms leeks with a rich balsamic glaze, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 leeks
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Begin by trimming the leeks, removing any tough green parts and the root end. Slice them lengthwise and rinse well under cold water to remove any grit or dirt clinging between the layers.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the prepared leeks. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Sauté the leeks for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are softened and slightly caramelized.
- Pour in the balsamic vinegar and stir to coat the leeks. Continue to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the leeks to absorb the sauce and become nicely glazed.
- Once the leeks are tender and glistening with the balsamic glaze, remove them from the heat. Serve warm, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet over low heat.
