Ingredients

  • 2 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking dish.
  2. Combine mixed berries with 1/4 cup sugar and lemon juice in a bowl; let sit for a few minutes.
  3. Whisk together flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt in another bowl. Add milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract, stirring until just combined.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Spoon the berry mixture over the top. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
