Description

Classic chocolate chip cookies with a chewy texture and rich buttery flavor, loaded with gooey chocolate chips.


Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Stir together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl, then set aside.
  3. Cream butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract in a larger bowl until smooth.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time until fully incorporated.
  5. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts (if using).
  7. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  8. Bake for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
