Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cream the softened butter until smooth. Add the egg and vanilla extract; mix until combined.
  4. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the blueberries.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the baking sheet, spacing them two inches apart.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  8. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For added flavor, consider adding lemon zest or a sprinkle of coarse sugar on top before baking.
