Instructions

- Cream the softened butter until smooth. Add the egg and vanilla extract; mix until combined.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.

- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the baking sheet, spacing them two inches apart.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
- Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
