Description

A classic blueberry pie with sweet-tart blueberries nestled in a flaky crust, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh blueberries
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pie crust (homemade or store-bought)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1 beaten egg (for egg wash, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the blueberries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and cinnamon. Toss gently until the blueberries are coated.
  3. Pour the blueberry mixture into the pie crust and dot the top with butter. Cover with a top crust or create a lattice design.
  4. Bake for 15 minutes at 425°F, then reduce the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for an additional 30-35 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  5. Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

For best results, use fresh blueberries. Adjust sugar based on berry sweetness, and allow pie to cool completely before slicing to prevent mess.
