Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup finely chopped pecans
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup bourbon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- Additional powdered sugar for rolling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened butter, powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract until smooth. Stir in the bourbon and mix well.
- Gradually add the flour and chopped pecans, mixing until fully combined and the dough holds together.
- Roll the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until edges look set and bottoms are lightly golden.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly for 5 minutes; then roll each ball in additional powdered sugar while warm.
- Allow to cool completely on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
For a stronger bourbon flavor, warm the bourbon slightly before mixing. Adjust the recipe for no-alcohol by using milk or cream.
