Description

Brown Butter Toffee Cookies combine rich, caramel-like flavor with crunchy toffee bits and melty chocolate chips for a cookie that’s crisp at the edges and soft in the center.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup toffee bits
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Measure all ingredients.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat and cook until it turns a golden brown with a nutty aroma. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the warm brown butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar and beat until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Fold in the toffee bits and chocolate chips.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spaced about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers still look slightly soft.
  7. Let the cookies cool on the sheet for 3–5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Serve warm with cold milk for the best combination. Optional toppings include flaky sea salt for contrast.
