Ingredients

  • 2 cups apple cider
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
  2. Bring the apple cider to a boil in a saucepan and reduce to about 1 cup of liquid, around 15-20 minutes.
  3. Whisk together the white sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, and eggs in a large bowl. Stir in the reduced apple cider.
  4. Whisk the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Fill each donut cavity 2/3 full with batter.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before dipping the tops in warm caramel sauce.
  8. Serve your donuts warm and enjoy!
