- 2 cups apple cider
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
- Bring the apple cider to a boil in a saucepan and reduce to about 1 cup of liquid, around 15-20 minutes.
- Whisk together the white sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, and eggs in a large bowl. Stir in the reduced apple cider.
- Whisk the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fill each donut cavity 2/3 full with batter.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool slightly before dipping the tops in warm caramel sauce.
- Serve your donuts warm and enjoy!
