A warm, comforting treat blending creamy cream cheese with sweet caramel for a rich, custardy breakfast or dessert.

- 1 loaf of bread
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the loaf of bread into thick slices. Grease a baking dish large enough to hold the slices in a single or slightly overlapping layer.
- In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until smooth and blended. Dip each bread slice into the cream cheese mixture, coating both sides evenly.
- Place the coated bread slices in the greased baking dish. Drizzle caramel sauce over the top of the layered bread, spreading a little if needed so the sauce covers evenly. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the bread is golden on top and the filling is set.
- Remove the dish from the oven and let it cool 5–10 minutes. Serve warm, drizzled with more caramel sauce if desired.
Notes
For best results, use slightly stale bread and a good-quality caramel sauce. It can also be made ahead of time and refrigerated before baking.
