Description
A warm, flaky treat filled with soft, sticky banana and melted dark chocolate, encased in golden puff pastry.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large bananas
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- 100g dark chocolate
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Flour (for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Lightly dust your work surface with flour. Let the puff pastry sit for 5 minutes.
- Beat the egg in a small bowl for egg wash. Chop dark chocolate into small pieces.
- Slice the bananas into ½ cm rounds. Melt the butter in a medium pan over medium heat and stir in brown sugar until bubbling. Toss the banana slices in the sugar for 3–5 minutes until golden and sticky.
- Roll out the puff pastry and cut into rectangles. Spoon chocolate and banana onto one half of each rectangle, leaving a border. Fold over to create pockets and seal the edges.
- Brush the tops with egg wash and place on a lined baking tray. Bake for 15–20 minutes until golden brown. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For best results, use firm, ripe bananas and keep the puff pastry cold while working.
