Description

This Cheesy Beef Lasagna is warm, comforting, and full of melty cheese and rich tomato flavor. Layers of tender noodles, creamy ricotta, browned beef, and gooey mozzarella bake into a bubbly, golden top.


Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons dried Italian herbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook the lasagna noodles until al dente, drain, and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, combine ricotta, egg, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. In a skillet, brown the ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and drain excess fat.
  4. Spread a layer of marinara sauce in a baking dish, layer noodles, ricotta mixture, beef, mozzarella, and more marinara. Repeat layers, finishing with marinara and mozzarella. Sprinkle with Parmesan.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then uncover and bake an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden. Rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a creamier texture, mix a tablespoon of olive oil into the ricotta. Let the lasagna rest for at least 5 minutes after baking to set the layers.
