Description
Quick and tender muffins filled with a smooth cream cheese mixture and bursting with cherry flavor, making them a delightful addition to any brunch or as a simple dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can crescent roll dough
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup cherry pie filling
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Optional: powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
- In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Remove lumps using a spoon or hand mixer.
- Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture at the wider end of each crescent triangle, add a dollop of cherry pie filling, and roll up each triangle from the wide end to enclose the filling. Place them on the prepared baking sheet and brush the tops with beaten egg.
- Bake for about 15–20 minutes or until golden brown. Allow the muffins to cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar if desired before serving warm.
Notes
For a different fruit twist, try using blueberry or raspberry pie filling. Store in an airtight container for up to 24 hours at room temperature or refrigerate for up to 3 days.
