Description
A moist and sweet loaf combining ripe bananas, chocolate chips, and a simple batter, perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan. Mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
- Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas until combined, then mix in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract. Sprinkle in the baking soda and salt, and stir to combine.
- Add the flour and mix until just incorporated. Do not overmix. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 60–65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Tent with foil if the top browns too quickly.
- Let the loaf cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
Enjoy slightly warm or at room temperature. For added flavor, serve with butter or cream cheese.
