A delightful dessert that combines rich chocolate and zesty orange in a creamy baked cheesecake, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups crushed chocolate cookies
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 4 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 4 oz dark chocolate, melted
  • Chocolate shavings and orange slices, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C) and grease a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed chocolate cookies with the melted butter and press into the bottom of the springform pan.
  3. Beat the softened cream cheese with granulated sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Blend in the sour cream, orange juice, and orange zest until fully combined.
  6. Stir in the melted dark chocolate until fully incorporated.
  7. Pour the cheesecake batter over the cookie crust in the springform pan.
  8. Bake for 55-60 minutes or until the center is set but slightly jiggly.
  9. Let the cheesecake cool in the oven with the door ajar for 1 hour.
  10. Chill the cheesecake in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  11. Before serving, garnish with chocolate shavings and orange slices.

Notes

For best results, use high-quality dark chocolate. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
