- 1 1/2 cups crushed chocolate cookies
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 4 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- Zest of 1 orange
- 4 oz dark chocolate, melted
- Chocolate shavings and orange slices, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C) and grease a 9-inch springform pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed chocolate cookies with the melted butter and press into the bottom of the springform pan.
- Beat the softened cream cheese with granulated sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Blend in the sour cream, orange juice, and orange zest until fully combined.
- Stir in the melted dark chocolate until fully incorporated.
- Pour the cheesecake batter over the cookie crust in the springform pan.
- Bake for 55-60 minutes or until the center is set but slightly jiggly.
- Let the cheesecake cool in the oven with the door ajar for 1 hour.
- Chill the cheesecake in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
- Before serving, garnish with chocolate shavings and orange slices.
Notes
For best results, use high-quality dark chocolate. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
