- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- In a saucepan, mix together the sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and salt until there are no lumps.
- Gradually whisk in the milk until the mixture is smooth and homogenous.
- Cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened and it comes to a gentle boil, about 8 to 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and butter until melted. Pour pudding into serving dishes and refrigerate for about 2 hours.
Notes
Serve chilled, topped with whipped cream or chocolate shavings if desired. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3 to 5 days.
