- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Green food coloring
- Red sugar or icing for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and baking powder, and set aside.
- Cream butter and sugar in a large bowl until fluffy. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, almond extract, and salt.
- Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until a soft dough forms. Add green food coloring to achieve desired color.
- Roll dough into balls and flatten slightly on prepared sheets. Decorate with red sugar or icing.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until edges are golden; let cool before transferring to wire racks.
Notes
Chill dough if too soft for shape. Use gel food coloring for best results.
