Description

Warm, flaky, and sweet Cinnamon Roll Breadtwists made with puff pastry, filled with cinnamon sugar, and topped with a vanilla glaze.


Ingredients

  • 1 package of puff pastry
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly flour a clean work surface and unwrap the puff pastry. If frozen, thaw according to package directions until pliable but still cool. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Brush the melted butter evenly over the rolled-out pastry. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the buttered pastry so the entire surface is covered.
  3. Cut the pastry into even strips (about 1-inch to 1.5-inch wide). Take each strip and twist it several times into a spiral or rope. Place the twists on the prepared baking sheet with space between them. Bake in the preheated oven for 15–20 minutes, or until the twists are puffed and golden brown.
  4. While the twists are warm, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make a smooth glaze. Drizzle the glaze over the warm breadtwists so it sinks into the folds and adds shine. Let cool briefly before serving.
