Description

An easy, crowd-pleasing dessert that tastes like a warm cinnamon roll, made with a boxed cake mix.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup whipped topping
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish well.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, 1 cup water, 1/3 cup vegetable oil, and 3 eggs; beat until smooth. Pour the batter into the prepared dish and bake for 25–30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  3. Mix 1 tablespoon cinnamon and 1/2 cup brown sugar. When the cake is done, poke holes all over the top and pour the entire can of sweetened condensed milk over it. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top.
  4. In another bowl, mix 1 cup whipped topping, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and 1/2 cup powdered sugar until smooth. Spread over the cooled cake and chill for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

Serve chilled or at room temperature. For best results, chill the cake for at least 1 hour before slicing.
