Description

A delightful artisan sourdough loaf enriched with olive oil and honey, featuring a crisp crust and chewy crumb.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g bread flour
  • 350ml water
  • 100g sourdough starter
  • 10g salt
  • 30ml olive oil
  • 20g honey

Instructions

  1. Mix the bread flour and water until no dry flour remains, then cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
  2. Add the sourdough starter, salt, olive oil, and honey, then mix until incorporated. Knead by hand for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  3. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise at room temperature for 4-6 hours until doubled in size.
  4. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface, shape into a round loaf, and let rest for 30 minutes while preheating the oven.
  5. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) with a Dutch oven inside for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Transfer the dough to the hot Dutch oven, score the top, cover, and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the crust is golden brown and hollow when tapped.
  8. Cool on a wire rack for at least 1 hour before slicing.

Notes

For best texture, allow the bread to cool completely before slicing. Store at room temperature for up to 2 days.
