Ingredients

  • 1 pre-made pie crust
  • 4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Whipped cream (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the pre-made pie crust in a pie dish and bake for about 10-12 minutes until golden brown. Let it cool completely.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine 1 cup of sugar with cornstarch and salt. Pour in 1 cup of water, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens.
  3. Remove from heat, add lemon juice and butter, and stir until well combined. Let cool slightly.
  4. In a mixing bowl, arrange halved strawberries and pour cooled syrup over them, gently stirring to coat. Pour the mixture into the cooled pie crust and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding vanilla extract to the syrup. Use ripe strawberries for best results.
