Description

A whimsical twist on classic cinnamon rolls, featuring cream cheese and chocolate chips, topped with vibrant blue cookie crumbs.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup softened cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • Milk (for frosting)
  • Blue cookie crumbs (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast on top and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add melted butter, egg, flour, and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Mix together brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  6. Roll out the dough into a large rectangle, spread with softened cream cheese, and sprinkle with the brown sugar mixture and chocolate chips.
  7. Roll the dough tightly from one long side to the other to form a log. Cut the log into 12 equal slices.
  8. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown on top.
  10. In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar with a little milk to create frosting. Drizzle over warm cinnamon rolls.
  11. Sprinkle blue cookie crumbs over the frosted rolls.

Notes

Store leftover rolls in an airtight container for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to a week. Unbaked rolls can be frozen before the second rising.
