Description
A warm, gooey cookie baked in a skillet with crispy edges and a soft, fudgy center, studded with crushed Oreos and melty chocolate chips.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch oven-safe skillet lightly with butter or nonstick spray.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt until evenly combined.
- In the skillet (or a mixing bowl), cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and slightly fluffy. Beat in the vanilla extract and the large egg until glossy and well blended.
- Gradually add the dry flour mixture to the butter-sugar mix, folding until just combined—do not overmix. Gently stir in the crushed Oreo cookies and chocolate chips.
- Spread the cookie dough evenly in the prepared skillet and smooth the top with a spatula. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and the center is set but still slightly soft.
- Remove the skillet from the oven and let the cookie cool for at least 10-15 minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. For extra crisp edges, use a cast-iron skillet.
