Description

A delightful twist on the traditional crab rangoon, this melt combines creamy flavors into a warm sandwich with a crispy exterior.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup crab meat, cooked and shredded
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 slices of bread
  • Butter, for spreading
  • Shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the softened cream cheese, crab meat, green onions, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  2. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. On the unbuttered side, spread a generous amount of the crab mixture. Top with shredded cheese and place another slice of bread on top, buttered side out.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat and place the sandwich in the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted. Remove from heat, slice, and serve hot.

Notes

For an extra creamy filling, add a tablespoon of mayonnaise or sour cream to the crab mixture. Experiment with different cheeses for added flavor.
