Description

A moist, tender cake with warm butter and vanilla aromas, perfect for breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup mix-ins (like chocolate chips, nuts, or fruits)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a bundt pan thoroughly with butter or nonstick spray and dust lightly with flour.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture, alternating with sour cream, and mix until just combined. Gently fold in mix-ins.
  4. Pour batter into the prepared bundt pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  5. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra flavor, coat mix-ins with flour before adding to the batter. Let cake cool completely before glazing.
