Description

A comforting dish combining creamy cheese, savory onion, and crispy hash browns, baked to golden perfection.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds frozen hash browns
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the frozen hash browns, chopped onion, melted butter, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese until well combined.
  3. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste. Spread the prepared mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Top with the remaining cup of cheddar cheese.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-40 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and golden brown. Remove from the oven and serve hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding cooked bacon or vegetables. This casserole can be assembled a day in advance.
