- 2 pounds frozen hash browns
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix together the frozen hash browns, chopped onion, melted butter, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese until well combined.
- Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste. Spread the prepared mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Top with the remaining cup of cheddar cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-40 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and golden brown. Remove from the oven and serve hot.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding cooked bacon or vegetables. This casserole can be assembled a day in advance.
