Description

Delightful scones combining the sweetness of cranberries with the subtle heat of jalapeños, perfect for brunch or snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 cup cranberry jalapeño dip
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt; mix well.
  3. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in cheese, dip, and green onions.
  4. Gradually add buttermilk; stir until just combined. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead gently.
  5. Pat dough into a 1-inch thick circle; cut into wedges or rounds.
  6. Place on baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Use cold butter for flaky scones. Brushing tops with buttermilk before baking enhances browning.
