Description

A hearty and flavorful pasta dish featuring Cajun sausage in a rich cream sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners.


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces of pasta (such as penne or fettuccine)
  • 1 pound of Cajun sausage (like andouille or kielbasa), sliced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1 cup of chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced Cajun sausage and cook until browned.
  3. Add the diced onion and bell pepper to the skillet, sautéing until softened.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Add the heavy cream and Cajun seasoning, stirring well to combine. Allow to simmer for 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat in the sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat on the stovetop or microwave, adding more broth or cream if necessary.
