Description

A delightful dish combining tender orzo pasta with savory shrimp and fresh broccoli in a rich, creamy sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz orzo pasta
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the orzo according to package instructions. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat a couple of tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Toss the shrimp into the skillet and cook until they are pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Stir in the broccoli and continue to cook until the florets are tender, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, bringing the mixture to a gentle simmer.
  6. Add the cooked orzo and grated Parmesan cheese, mixing until everything is combined and creamy.
  7. Season the dish with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Add a splash of broth or cream when reheating to restore creaminess.
