Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
- 8 taco shells
- 1 cup lettuce, shredded
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup salsa
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying (optional)
Instructions
- If using, heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- In a bowl, mix shredded chicken, cheese, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Fill each taco shell generously with the chicken-cheese mixture, packing it in for extra deliciousness.
- If frying, carefully place the filled tacos in hot oil and fry until crispy and golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Once cooked, remove the tacos and let them drain on paper towels.
- Top each taco with shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes, then add a dollop of sour cream and a splash of salsa.
- Serve immediately while they’re hot and crispy.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding jalapeños or baking instead of frying. Store filling separately to maintain crispiness.
