Description
These crispy tahini black bean fritters are simple, hearty, and full of flavor, featuring a crunchy golden crust with a soft, bean-filled center.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1/4 cup tahini
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying (vegetable or olive oil)
Instructions
- Drain and rinse the black beans well. Dry them briefly in a sieve or with a paper towel. Finely chop the onion and mince the garlic.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the black beans until mostly smooth. Add tahini, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, salt, and pepper; mix until combined. Adjust seasoning if needed.
- Form the mixture into small patties about 2–3 inches wide.
- Heat about 2 tablespoons oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the patties for about 3–4 minutes per side or until golden brown and crisp.
- Transfer cooked fritters to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve warm with lemon wedges or yogurt sauce.
Notes
Try serving with a lemon-yogurt sauce, tahini sauce, or as a burger patty replacement in a bun with slaw and avocado.
