Warm, cinnamon-scented pastries that are crisp on the outside and soft inside, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- Extra melted butter for brushing
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a muffin tin well or line with paper liners. Lightly flour your work surface.
- In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon. In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, milk, egg, and vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and stir until just mixed.
- Turn the dough onto the floured surface and roll it into a rectangle about 1/4–1/2 inch thick. Brush with melted butter, sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon, then roll tightly into a log. Slice the log into rounds and place into the muffin tin. Bake for 20–25 minutes.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Brush with melted butter or dust with cinnamon sugar before serving.
Notes
For best texture, serve warm. Can pair with coffee, whipped cream, or fruit preserves.
