Description

A rich and decadent Easter Chocolate Truffle Cake with creamy ganache and moist chocolate layers, perfect for holiday celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 1 chocolate cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 12 oz bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar for dusting
  • Chocolate shavings for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Beat for 2 minutes on medium speed until well blended.
  3. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  4. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.
  5. Heat heavy cream in a saucepan until just simmering, then remove from heat and stir in chopped chocolate and vanilla extract until smooth. Let the ganache cool until thickened.
  6. Place one cake layer on a serving plate, spread half of the ganache on top, then place the second layer on top and pour remaining ganache over the cake.
  7. Dust with powdered sugar and garnish with chocolate shavings before serving.

Notes

Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream and a side of fresh berries for added balance.
