Description

A thick, soft cookie baked in a sheet pan, studded with chocolate chips and pastel candies, perfect for Easter gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup pastel-colored M&Ms or other festive candies

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt until evenly combined.
  3. Cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the vanilla extract and the egg until well combined.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips and M&Ms gently.
  7. Spread the cookie dough evenly into the prepared pan.
  8. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until edges are golden.
  9. Allow to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.

Notes

For a festive touch, scatter a few extra candies on top while the cake is warm or drizzle with melted white chocolate once cooled.
