  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 3 to 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • Sprinkles or edible decorations

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Stir together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and baking powder in a small bowl.
  3. Cream together the softened butter and white sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined, then blend in the dry ingredients.
  5. Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls and place them on ungreased cookie sheets.
  6. Flatten each ball slightly and decorate with sprinkles.
  7. Bake the cookies in the oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or until golden.
  8. Let the cookies cool on wire racks.
  9. Mix powdered sugar with milk to prepare icing and drizzle over cooled cookies.
