Description

A delightful appetizer packed with fresh flavors that celebrate the simplicity of Italian cuisine.

Ingredients

Scale
  • French bread or Italian bread
  • 45 ripe tomatoes, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Balsamic vinegar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice the bread into 1/2-inch thick slices and place on a baking sheet.
  3. Brush the bread with olive oil and toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes until lightly golden.
  4. In a bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, minced garlic, chopped basil, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  5. Spoon the tomato mixture onto the toasted bread slices.
  6. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

Bruschetta is best enjoyed fresh. Store the tomato mixture separately from the toasted bread to prevent sogginess.
