A quick and easy recipe for soft, chewy Turkish flatbreads made without an oven.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Sesame seeds (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder.
- Gradually add water and olive oil to the dry ingredients.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
- Divide the dough into small balls (6 even portions).
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Place a flatbread in the skillet and cook for about 2–3 minutes on the first side.
- If desired, brush the cooked flatbread lightly with olive oil.
- Keep cooked breads warm in a clean towel while you finish the rest.
Notes
Serve warm with dips, grilled meats, or use as a sandwich flatbread.
