Description
A delightful dessert featuring thinly sliced apples blended into a moist cake, creating an ‘invisible’ fruit effect.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 large apples, peeled and thinly sliced
- 3 large eggs
- 100g (1/2 cup) sugar
- 100g (1/2 cup) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 100ml (1/2 cup) milk
- 30g (2 tablespoons) melted butter
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease an 8-inch round cake pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar until pale and fluffy.
- Sift in the flour, baking powder, and salt, then gently mix until just combined. Add vanilla extract, milk, and melted butter, stirring until smooth. Fold in the sliced apples.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool before removing it from the pan. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
For best results, use a variety of apples, slice them thinly, and avoid overmixing the batter.
