Description

A cheerful and vibrant Funfetti Flag Cake, perfect for celebrations with its colorful sprinkles and fresh berries.


Ingredients

  • 1 box vanilla cake mix
  • 1 cup sprinkles
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 batch buttercream frosting
  • Red, white, and blue food coloring
  • Fresh strawberries for decoration
  • Fresh blueberries for decoration
  • Whipped cream for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two round cake pans.
  2. In a bowl, mix the cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil until smooth.
  3. Fold in sprinkles gently with a spatula.
  4. Divide the batter between the pans and smooth the tops. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
  5. Cool for 10 minutes in the pans, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
  6. Meanwhile, prepare buttercream frosting and divide into three bowls; color one red, one blue, and keep one white.
  7. Place one cake layer on a plate and frost the top with white buttercream, then add the second layer.
  8. Apply a thin crumb coat of white frosting over the entire cake.
  9. Decorate the top and sides with red and blue frosting in a flag design.
  10. Add fresh strawberries and blueberries around the edges and atop the cake for decoration.
  11. Slice and serve the cake at your gathering!

Notes

For best results, cool the cake completely before frosting to avoid melting.
