A warm, cheesy bread topped with green chilies, perfect for snacks or as a side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf of bread
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup diced green chilies
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix the softened butter with the garlic powder, onion powder, and salt until smooth.
  3. Cut the loaf of bread in half lengthwise and spread the butter mixture evenly on the cut sides.
  4. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese and diced green chilies over the buttered bread halves, pressing lightly.
  5. Place the bread halves on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15–20 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly for 3–5 minutes. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

Serve warm for the best texture. Pairs well with soups, tacos, or chili.
