- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 large potatoes, sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare the ingredients by slicing the potatoes and chopping the onion.
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and onion over medium heat until cooked through. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until thick and creamy.
- In a greased casserole dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, half of the beef mixture, and half of the cheese. Repeat the layers for the second half. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly and golden brown. Let it cool before serving.
Notes
This casserole can be made in advance and even frozen. Use fresh vegetables and quality ground beef for best flavor.
