Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 cup diced ham
- 3/4 cup milk

- Mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
- Cut in the cold cubed butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the shredded cheese and diced ham until evenly distributed.
- Add the milk gradually, stirring until the dough just comes together.
- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently 4–6 times.
- Roll or pat the dough to about 1 inch thick, and cut with a biscuit cutter.
- Place biscuits on the prepared baking sheet about 1 inch apart.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes before serving warm.
Notes
For a glossy finish, brush tops with melted butter when they come out of the oven.
