Description

Warm, flaky biscuits filled with savory ham and melted cheese, perfect for breakfast, lunch, or a cozy snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 cup diced ham
  • 3/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Measure and prepare all ingredients: cube the cold butter, shred the cheese, and dice the ham.
  3. Mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  4. Cut in the cold cubed butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Stir in the shredded cheese and diced ham until evenly distributed.
  6. Add the milk gradually, stirring until the dough just comes together.
  7. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently 4–6 times.
  8. Roll or pat the dough to about 1 inch thick, and cut with a biscuit cutter.
  9. Place biscuits on the prepared baking sheet about 1 inch apart.
  10. Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes before serving warm.

Notes

For a glossy finish, brush tops with melted butter when they come out of the oven.
